How to Make a Spirulina Facial Mask for a Super Healthy Skin

Having a green colour on the face is generally not good, but when you use this nutritious spirulina mask, it would be. It contains raw foods to keep your skin bright and fresh. It is suitable for all skin types, from acne to desiccation. It’s easy and quick to prepare, which makes it the perfect mask on weekdays to pamper!

Spirulina:

This green alga can be a bit weird, but it is full of excellent nutritious foods. It is rich in protein, iron, antioxidants, magnesium and B vitamins, to name a few. It contains more than 26 times more calcium than milk and is considered the most nutrient-dense food on the planet. Antioxidants help prevent ageing and wrinkles for younger skin. Applying a diaper on the face gives your skin an increase in nutrients for healthier and more beautiful looking skin, and is also very useful for acne-prone skin.

Raw Honey:

There are so many uses of raw honey that it is difficult to reduce it to a single paragraph. Softens and regenerates the skin It is even used to treat burns. Its natural antibacterial properties make it ideal for cleaning the skin and keeping it clean. It also acts as a moisturiser to keep the skin soft and supple.

Yoghurt:

You may know that yoghurt is full of probiotics that are healthy for the intestine, but these good bacteria are also nutritious for the skin. Yoghurt naturally contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that helps naturally exfoliate dead skin cells. This, in turn, reveals the fresh, healthy skin beneath and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and ageing of the skin.

Essential oils:

There are so many different essential oils, with so many different uses. However, some essential oils may be too irritating to the delicate skin of the face. So choose your essential oils with care and use a carrier oil if necessary. My favourites to help improve the skin are geranium, incense and lavender. These essential oils help restore and rejuvenate the skin while fighting against the ageing of the skin. The spirulina contained in this mask has a slightly strong odour. The essential oil not only helps to improve the skin but also gives the mask a pleasant smell.

How to make a face mask with spirulina:

ingredients:

  • ¾ c. Spirulina powder
  • One tablespoon. raw honey
  • One tablespoon. natural yoghurt without sugar
  • One drop of geranium essential oil (you can also use incense, lavender or patchouli)

Equipment:

  • Spoon or spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small glass bowl

instructions:

  1. In a small glass bowl, combine all the ingredients. Grind and mix until everything is well combined. It will thicken a little while stirring.
  2. To use, apply the mask generously on the face with the tips of the fingers, avoiding the eye area. You can also use an essential brush for a more uniform application.
  3. Wash with warm water and continue with your skin care program as usual.

This recipe is enough for two applications of the face mask. Keep it refrigerated for two days, let it reach room temperature before using it again as honey can harden.
